The Best on DVD & BluRay
Goosebumps
Who’s in it?
Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Amy Ryan, Jillian Bell, Ryan Scott Lee
What’s it about?
“Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong. Note: Scholastic has sold over 400 million Goosebumps books worldwide in 32 languages since the series introduction in 1992, earning critical acclaim and dominating global best seller lists. R.L. Stine has been recognized as one of the bestselling children’s authors in history.” – Sony
Nate’s Two Cents?
This isn’t the best movie you will ever see, but it sure is fun. THe movie brings back nostalgia for fans of the Goosebumps books growing up. One of the fun parts of the movie is trying to spot all the different monsters from the various stories. The amusement park in the woods is my favorite part of the movie. If I could pick I would want more of that in the movie, but beggars can’t be choosers. This will make for a fun night in to watch with family and/or friends.

Nate’s Two Cents?
This week was the return of one of my favorite tv shows of all time, The X Files. If you like scifi and have not yet seen the series then now is as good a time as any. I used to get scared of the theme song and intro credits when I was a kid. I couldn’t even watch it without having bad dreams. Once I grew up though I blazed through the entire series and was completely in love!! So give it a shot if you’ve never seen it, and if you have then watch it all again. The truth is out there, and it seems it always will be.

Burnt
“Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all – and lost it. The former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene had earned two Michelin stars and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive star though, Jones will need to leave his bad habits behind and get the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). BURNT is a remarkably funny and emotional story about the love of food, the love between two people, and the power of second chances.” – Rotten Tomatoes
