Welcome back movie lovers! I’m back again for another look at the home video releases for the week for all you faithful FTS readers. This week we have a couple exciting releases to talk about so lets just get started.

What We Do in the Shadows

What’s it about?

Clement and Waititi, creators of the HBO hit series “Flight of the Conchords,” co-wrote, co-directed, and co-star in this hilarious send-up in which an endearingly unhip quartet of friends reveal to us or, rather, to the documentary crew that’s filming them, the details of their daily-make that nightly-routine. Ranging in age from 183 to 8,000, and in appearance from adorably youthful to Nosferatu-crusty, they squabble over household chores, struggle to keep up with the latest trends in technology and fashion, antagonize the local werewolves, cruise clubs for lovely ladies, and deal with the rigors of living on a very, very strict diet.” – Paladin

Nate’s Two Cents?
I finally got around to watching this movie after months of putting it off and telling myself I needed to watch it. I’ve always been a fan of Flight of the Concords, so I had faith in the films ability to entertain. The whole movie is a hilarious look into the lives of a group of vampires trying to live in the modern world. Note: This is not Twilight. I really enjoyed the film and would watch it again.

Wild Horses

Rotten Tomatoes: 17% | IMDB: 4.8

Jauja

Grandma’s Boy (2006)

Alex (Allen Covert) is a 35-year-old video-game fanatic who gave up a career in accounting to take a job testing games for Brainasium, the company behind the wildly popular game “Eternal Death Slayer.” While Alex took a big pay cut to land his dream job, he’s happy with his work and is making ends meet — until he discovers that his roommate hasn’t paid the rent for the last six months, using the money to finance repeated visits to a local massage parlor. After running out of friends who will let him sleep on their couch, Alex swallows his pride and moves in with his grandma Lily (Doris Roberts), who loves Alex and is happy to give him a place to stay in exchange for doing chores around the house. Lily shares her home with two friends, perpetually confused Bea (Shirley Knight) and sexually adventurous Grace (Shirley Jones), and between the three of them, there’s always work to be done, keeping Alex busy nearly every night. Nate’s Two Cents?
If you haven’t seen Grandma’s Boy then be sure to watch it now! It’s hilarious and always a great re-watch. I was very surprised when I saw how low of a score it received on Rotten Tomatoes. Everyone I’ve ever talked to has loved the movie and found it extremely amusing. Either way, give it a watch and find out for yourself if you haven’t already.
