Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest vs. Gaston from Beauty and the Beast
The Ultimate Villain Tournament is a bracket style competition that pits movie villain against movie villain. In this match up, we put together two very different types of villains. Which baddie would be able to pull off his/her villainous scheme? Take a look at our character breakdowns and tell us who you think is the bigger threat.

Nurse-Ratched-One-Flew-Over-the-Cuckoo's-Nest-1

Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

So quiet, so unassuming, is this meek little Nurse really a villain at all? Able to conquer the mightiest of foes with only her mind, Nurse Ratched is the worst kind of evildoer, the one you never see coming. Able to exact revenge with a smile on her face and a sedative in her hand, she is not one to be trifled with. She is able to lull her victims into a false sense of security and well-being with her soft spoken words and guise of helping to rehabilitate. Her method of attack is roughly 98% mental and 2% physical. Easily overpowered by having a power over many.

Strengths: Blends in with others. Can wield her power of authority over others.

Weaknesses: Her inability to bring any kind of discernible physical ability or strength to the table. Makes too many enemies.

VERSUS

Gaston-Beauty-and-the-Beast-1

Gaston from Beauty and the Beast

With his dashing good looks and muscular build, Gaston has many admirers in his small town, but he only has eyes for the beautiful yet bookish Belle – and he’ll go to any lengths to have her, even if it means having her eccentric father thrown into an insane asylum. The townsfolk all adore him, even singing songs of his greatness, and are ready to rally behind him at a moments notice to storm the Beast’s castle with torches and pitchforks, so in the unlikely event that Gaston cannot defeat someone himself, he’s got an angry mob at his beck and call to take them out for him.

Strengths: A complete lack of remorse or compassion, the support of the townsfolk, a magnificent chin and being especially good at expectorating.

Weaknesses: Gaston isn’t the sharpest antler on the wall, and he doesn’t know exactly what a book is for. Plus he’s apparently got spare biceps and every last inch of him is covered with hair, neither of which sound biologically possible, or indeed comfortable.
