Maybe you’re looking to save a few bucks or the current theater choices just aren’t cutting it. Whatever the case may be, sometimes it’s just as nice to sit at home and watch a good flick. Take a look at this week’s picks for some At-Home Alternatives to the weekly cinema options.
Instead of The Possession: The Exorcist
The state of horror saddens me. Genuine scares for me are few and far between and it appears that The Possession isn’t going to buck this trend. Instead of spending your hard-earned coins at the theater, stay home and watch The Exorcist. I could sit here and tell you why you should watch The Exorcist, but you already know that this classic is awesome, seriously creepy, and will make you not touch a Ouija board ever, so I’ll spare you.
Piranha 3DD (2012)
So I missed this installment in the Piranha series when it was in theaters, but if it’s anything it predecessor it should be great bloody fun. Lindsay rounded up a few reviews for the Piranha sequel in a recent edition of The Gore Report so be sure to seek them out.
Prince of Darkness(1987)
This little gem of a horror movie is directed by the legendary John Carpenter. The premise of the film is that there is an unspeakable evil in the basement of a church. It stars Donald Pleasence as the priest.
Prince of Darkness Netflix Synopsis: A cylinder of mysterious, green liquid is found in an abandoned church. It may contain the ultimate evil: an ancient iniquity that longs to escape. Several physicists try to comprehend what’s happening and race to save the world, even as they’re being turned into zombies one by one. Director John Carpenter fills Prince of Darkness with his trademark mix of horror and humor.
What do you plan on watching this week, at home or otherwise? What do you think of my choices?
