Maybe you’re looking to save a few bucks or the current theater choices just aren’t cutting it. Whatever the case may be, sometimes it’s just as nice to sit at home and watch a good flick. Take a look at this week’s picks for some At-Home Alternatives to the weekly cinema options.
Instead of Iron Man 3: Who are we kidding?
Everyone and their mother will be seeing this film this weekend. But maybe you’re the type that doesn’t like crowds and is going to wait and catch it on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. If that’s the case, then spend your weekend by catching up on Iron Man by watching Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Avengers. (and no, I’m not talking about the Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes, Sean Connery film… though that is an enjoyable film)
Jack Reacher (2012)
I haven’t seen this film yet, but I’ve heard nothing but positives things from critics and fellow bloggers alike. Most of the FTS crew have seen the film and Lindsay reviewed the film on the site, which can be found here. Besides, it’s this or Safe Haven.
Take Me Home Tonight (2011)
This film has become a pick-me-up film lately. I keep it at the top of my queue and play it whenever I’m feeling down. Aside from being funny, it’s packed with recognizable faces like Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler, Chris Pratt, Michelle Trachtenberg, Demetri Martin, Michael Ian Black, Bob Odenkirk, and Lucy Punch (the terrifying Darla from Dinner for Schmucks) At just over an hour and a half, it’s a great comedy to sit down, enjoy, and somehow feel oddly better about yourself.
Take Me Home Tonight Netflix Synopsis: Amid the goings-on at a raucous Labor Day party, brilliant but underemployed Matt Franklin learns a slew of lessons about life and love in the financial boom of the late 1980s in this ensemble-cast film from the writers of “That ’70s Show.”
What do you plan on watching this week, at home or otherwise? What do you think of my choices?
