Welcome back movie lovers! I’m back again for another look at the home video releases for the week for all you faithful FTS readers. This week we have a couple exciting releases to talk about so lets just get started.

Mad Max: Fury Road

Who’s in it?
Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Zoe Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

What’s it about?
“A woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in post apocalyptic Australia in search for her homeland with the help of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper, and a drifter named Max, who is anything but happy.” – IMDB

Nate’s Two Cents?
Fury Road is the action event of the year! If you haven’t already seen this year’s action-packed epic, then go out and buy it this Tuesday because it’s worth every penny. I haven’t had this much fun watching a movie in a long time and haven’t heard anyone say they didn’t enjoy every second of Fury Road. If two hours of non-stop action and car chases isn’t your thing, then I’m afraid you’re just lame.

Bessie

Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me

“In 2011, music legend Glen Campbell set out on an unprecedented tour across America. They thought it would last 5 weeks instead it went for 151 spectacular sold out shows over a triumphant year and a half across America. What made this tour extraordinary was that Glen had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He was told to hang up his guitar and prepare for the inevitable. Instead, Glen and his wife went public with his diagnosis and announced that he and his family would set out on a “Goodbye Tour.” The film documents this amazing journey as he and his family attempt to navigate the wildly unpredictable nature of Glen’s progressing disease using love, laughter and music as their medicine of choice. The Master

Who’s in it?
Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams

What’s this thing about?
“A striking portrait of drifters and seekers in post World War II America, Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master unfolds the journey of a Naval veteran (Joaquin Phoenix) who arrives home from war unsettled and uncertain of his future – until he is tantalized by The Cause and its charismatic leader (Philip Seymour Hoffman).” – Weinstein

Nate’s Two Cents?
Another film I decided to see, based on a film professor’s recommendation, that I ended up absolutely in love with. I’ve always been a fan of Paul Thomas Anderson’s work, and The Master only added to that. Phoenix gives an amazing performance and at times had me cracking up, even in such a serious story. Hoffman was of course putting his brilliance to work with his performance as “Master”, a character who is also playing a role within the confines of the films plot. If you haven’t checked out any of Anderson’s work before, then start with The Master.
