Maybe you’re looking to save a few bucks or the current theater choices just aren’t cutting it. Whatever the case may be, sometimes it’s just as nice to sit at home and watch a good flick. Take a look at this week’s picks for some At-Home Alternatives to the weekly cinema options.

Instead of Fast & Furious 6: Death Proof
Look, is it me or is the Fast & Furious franchise slowly changing genres from action to zombies because they’re bringing people back to life left and right. Stay home and watch Death Proof, it has awesome car chases, some of the best practical effects that I’ve seen, plus there’s a chick hanging on for dear life to a hood of a moving car for half the movie, take that, Vin Diesel.

Instead of The Hangover Part 3: The Hangover
I for the life of me cannot understand why people enjoy these movies, I just can’t. If you can’t make it out to see HO:III and you’re a fan of the series, watch the original. According to Nick’s review, part 3 makes connections to the other films so you can go back and refresh yourself.

DarkSkies
Dark Skies (2012)
Dark Skies is a movie from the Producers of Paranormal Activity and Sinister that follows a suburban family that is being plagued by supernatural happenings.

slither-02

Slither (2006)
Slither perfectly combines comedy and horror and doesn’t skip on the fun. You have the hero of Geek culture, Nathan Fillion as the charming sheriff of a town who’s invaded by slug like aliens. Get your friends over and watch it in a group.

Netflix Synopsis: In the small burg of Wheelsy, housecats are turning into hellcats and townsfolk are morphing into zombies, prompting Sheriff Bill Pardy and the concerned wife of one of the town’s richest citizens to uncover the dark forces at work.

What do you plan on watching this week, at home or otherwise? What do you think of my choices?
