Six weeks from today will be May the Fourth; Star Wars Day. As of now, there are six films in the Star Wars saga. Coincidence? I think not. Therefore, starting today, and every Saturday leading up to Star Wars Day, FTS will be releasing a Star Wars Drinking Game! Today we begin with The Phantom Menace. I know this film isn’t a favorite amongst fans, but after a few beers, the movie is quite enjoyable. So sit back, relax, pop in your VHS/DVD/BluRay copy of Episode I, and may the force be with you.

One stand out aspect of The Phantom Menace is the podracing featured in the movie. These races were an entertaining part of the film and played a vital role in its plot. Bear Republic is a brewery whose theme centers around racing. Their flagship brew, Racer 5, is an easy drinking IPA with a citrus hop character and sweet, bready malts. The beer is well balanced with a nice level of bitterness that invites you to drink it. When you begin watching the Star Wars films, you are starting the daunting task of watching six movies. Coincidentally Racer 5 comes in a six pack, and it will help you realize how easy it is to get through six of something. Racer 5 is a great beer to start off a night of drinking, so use it to start of the Stars Wars saga.
