I have never really fancied FTS to be much of a movie news site, which is why I rarely bother posting the latest movie news. On occasion, I’ll share something that peaks my interest or write a little about it, but I usually don’t find any real reason to post something that I’ve already seen a million times somewhere else. But with access to press materials and releases, I don’t want to have it go to waste. I love checking out new images and stills from films so I thought I could show off some nice ones from a few different movies each week. Some old and some upcoming, enjoy a little bit of eye candy courtesy of FTS.

Easy Money
There was once talk that Zac Efron, blue-eyed teen heartthrob, was branching out into bigger and better horizons. He was set to take a roll in the film adaptation of the popular Swedish crime fiction novel Snabba Cash. I don’t remember where I heard it, but at the time I was excited to see the actor trying new things. He’s a guy I think has talent and would love to see him break out of his usual film choices. Then, in what at the time seemed like a completely unrelated story, another actor I’m eager to see do more work was being cast in a few new films. I heard The Killing’s Joel Kinnaman was working on a new project with Safe House director Daniel Espinosa. Then one day I was surfing around the internetz and BAM! Here’s the film Easy Money based on Snabba Cash, starring Joel Kinnaman, directed by Daniel Espinosa…made in 2010! What the what? Where was Zac and how had this already happened? Apparently my wires had become more than crossed. Anyway, I’ve only seen a few production images (below) from the film and would love to know if it’s worth the watch. Has anyone out there seen Easy Money?

The Amazing Spider-Man
So yes, this is another Spidey flick. Nevermind that the last Spiderman movie came out in 2007, we need another one, and we need it now! Well maybe not all of us. I for one am having a hard time welcoming this new Spidey into my life. I think Andrew Garfield looks great a Peter Parker and the images below are nothing short  of impressive, but…what’s the point? Most people appear to be totally digging the new Spidey feature though, leaving me standing in the minority, but we will see. I’ll keep my mind wide open.

L.A. Confidential (1997)

“Off the record, on the QT, and very hush-hush.”

This is the throwback for today. First of all, I can’t believe this movie is from 1997. It is one of the period films that does such a great job representing the time period that if can be shown in any decade and look like it was made that week. The Academy Award winning movie centers around corruption and scandal in L.A. during the 1950’s. Sex, violence, drugs and indulgence abound as the movie weaves through separate storylines including the LA police department and the sleazy side of Hollywood. The film is packed with all star performances and gorgeous cinematography. Beat the heat one summer day with a viewing of the pulpy goodness that is L.A. Confidential.
