As a beer lover, I often find myself selecting out a brew to fit my mood. And as a movie lover, most of the time the two go hand in hand. So I decided to share some pairings of film and beer that I think go great together. Take a look at my pick of the week and hopefully you will enjoy it.
Beer Choice:
Tröegs Troegenator Double Bock
Tröegs Brewery in Hershey Pennsylvania produces some of the highest rated beers on the East Coast. All of their brews are standout, and Troegenator is no exception. Brewed in the style of beer that monks would produce to sustain themselves during fasts, Troegenator is a bready, malty lager that is deep red and has a touch of sweetness. Perfect for chilly days or a late night snack, Troegenator is Tröegs winter seasonal and widely available through the East Coast.

Movie Pairing:
Gangs of New York
Gangs of New York stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day Lewis and is directed by Martin Scorsese. The plot revolves around the violence between two gangs in 19th century New York. DiCaprio’s father is murdered by Day Lewis’ character in a bloody opening sequence. The plot jumps forward a couple decades and explores the relationship of the two characters as Day Lewis becomes DiCaprio’s mentor.
Gangs of New York is a long film and Troegenator will get you through it. The film is beautifully shot and plot heavy and Troegenator is heavy enough to match up to it.
