So I usually never pay attention to the Razzies but it seemed relevant to French Toast Sunday so I will actually make some predictions this year. Granted, the only movie I saw this year out of this list was Eclipse, because of the fact that I know the movies are going to be shitty and therefore I do not spend money on them! I made predictions on what I think looked the shittiest (Razziest?) nominee in each category. Side note, the Razzies website is really god awful and they really need to hire a new designer to fix that mess.
I can only assume that Vampires Suck was the worst movie made this year, and the definite one that I would find no redeeming qualities in. Also, out of all these movies it would be the one least likely for me to give a shot, so I predicted it to win the most awards. My sole beef with this list is that, yeah I know, Eclipse was actually the best movie made out of the Twilight Saga so far. I feel like other movies looked much worse, such as Little Fockers, Skyline, Killers, to name a few, and perhaps Eclipse was nominated so much because of the eternal hate for the franchise. The most unnecessary nom for the movie was for Worst Director, because David Slade definitely made no glaring directorial mistakes and actually made many improvements. I’m not arguing the movie to place on any “Best-Of”s lists, but maybe it deserves a little more slack when you compare it to the first two.
To round this off, I don’t think anyone really cares about the Razzies, and the fact that Sandra Bullock won one last year for worst actress, and won Best Actress at the Academy Awards goes to show they don’t necessarily discount anyone.
