Attention gumshoes! It’s that time of year again – time for our official announcement of this year’s French Toast Sunday Scavenger Hunt! This year we present to you the French Toast Sunday Fourth Annual Scavenger Hunt: Murder Mystery Edition!
As this is just a preliminary announcement for the scav hunt, some of the following details are subject to change. What I know for sure are a few important numbers. Saturday, August 17th 2013 will be the big day and admission this year will be $5.00 per person. So if you think you will be in the Baltimore area and know you want to attend, coordinate your plans to be free all day! The Hunt will run from 12pm to 8pm including time for debriefing, check ins, and a post hunt viewing party.
If you haven’t participated in the hunt before, this is the basic gist of what it’s all about: Our scav hunt is a game in which teams work together to gather a random assortment of items, as well as perform a multitude of tasks for points. The team that earns the most points in the end wins!
Each year we set a new theme for the Scavenger Hunt that shapes the overall list. FTS decided on a theme they personally love for 2013: Murder Mystery. The list and challenges will have a section specifically relating to our theme but there will also be an overarching mystery to solve during the hunt. We will provide you with all the clues and necessary materials needed to solve the case and points earned during the hunt can be traded for additional help.
You can also expect to see a few changes for this year’s Scav Hunt. The changes are a result of evaluations made about what worked and what needed help from the past years challenge, as well as necessary modifications needed to fit this year’s theme. Normally, the list contains over 450 items/actions to find and complete but this year we scaled that down considerably in order to insert more fun relating to the murder mystery. We will keep the exciting theme changes under wraps so it will be a surprise to our participants. The list categories this year are broken down into film ratings (G, PG-13, R…) and we also kept the Legendary Category. Without giving away the specifics, we will also have an interesting incentive for a few special items on the list.
As mentioned above, you will be able to manage the points your team earns. Overall score will win but you can use your points to buy clues for the case. Solving the case will earn you a hefty number of points.
This year will also have slightly different check in times and post hunt activities. After the game has ended, we will have pizza and a movie for your enjoyment, followed by a viewing of the photos/videos and quick awards ceremony.
Oh and did we mention, this year we will have CASH AND PRIZES!
