Red Riding Hood
Release Date: March 11, 2011
My thoughts: Still need to find out a bit more about this movie before passing judgment but I could see a dark tale of this classic story possibly being successful. Catherine Hardwicke is the director behind it and I can’t see her style translating well to this story idea, however the trailer does not seem to feature her usual hand held camera and weird lighting techniques. I’ll have to wait and see on this one.
Your Highness
Release Date: April 8, 2011
My thoughts: I love the idea behind it and can see some serious comedic gold in the medieval setting. Not to mention, I am all about this cast. James Franco, Danny McBride, Natalie Portman, and Zooey Daschenel in one movie sound like a great mix. Definitely excited for this movie to come out!
The Green Lantern
Release Date: June 17, 2011
My thoughts: I love Ryan Reynolds, however this trailer did not really click with me. I felt like it was all over the place and did not get a great idea of what his character or the story is all about. I am not a big fan of Blake Lively and have a hard time seeing chemistry between her and Reynolds. Who knows, this movie could surprise me and be much better than the trailer let on but for now I am saving my excitement for The Green Hornet.
Cowboys and Aliens
Release Date: July 29, 2011
My thoughts: Based on this trailer, the movie looks awesome! The concept sounds like it will be a fun movie with a lot of good action in it. Jon Favreau directing it only gives me more hope because I love what he’s done with the Iron Man movies. Looks like this will be a big summer hit.
